Instructions:
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
Boil cabbage leaves until tender, about 5 minutes. Drain and set aside.
In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, cooked rice, chopped onion, minced garlic, salt, and pepper.
Layer half of the cabbage leaves in a baking dish. Spread the beef mixture over the cabbage leaves. Top with remaining cabbage leaves.
Pour tomato sauce and diced tomatoes over the top.
Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes:
For a vegetarian version, substitute ground beef with a plant-based meat alternative.
