Instructions:
1. Heat the skillet over the campfire or portable stove.
2. Cook the ground beef and chopped onions until the beef is browned and the onions are soft.
3. Add the cream of mushroom soup, salt, and black pepper to the skillet. Stir well.
4. Spread the mixture evenly in the skillet and top with shredded cheddar cheese.
5. Arrange the tater tots on top of the cheese.
6. Cover and cook for about 20 minutes, or until the tater tots are crispy and the cheese is melted.
