Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Cook the egg noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes.
Gradually whisk in the milk, cooking until the mixture thickens and bubbles.
Remove from heat and stir in 1 1/2 cups of the shredded cheddar cheese until melted. Season with salt and pepper.
Combine the cooked egg noodles and cheese sauce in a mixing bowl. Transfer to a baking dish.
Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of shredded cheddar cheese on top.
Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes:
For a crunchy topping, add breadcrumbs mixed with melted butter on top before baking.
