Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, brown sugar, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon.
Add the bread cubes to the mixture and stir until the bread is well coated.
Fold in the sliced bananas and chopped pecans.
Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish.
Drizzle the melted butter over the top of the casserole.
Bake for 45 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the center is set.
If using, drizzle the dark rum over the top of the casserole just before serving.
Notes:
This dish is perfect for a special breakfast or brunch. Serve with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an extra treat.
