Ingredients:  

Main Ingredients

  • 1 loaf French bread cut into cubes
  • 8 eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Topping

  • 1/2 cup butter melted
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

Instructions: 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, brown sugar, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and salt.
  • Place the cubed French bread in a greased baking dish.
  • Pour the egg mixture over the bread cubes, making sure all pieces are well-coated.
  • In a small bowl, mix together the melted butter, brown sugar, chopped pecans, and ground cinnamon for the topping.
  • Sprinkle the topping evenly over the casserole.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the casserole is set.
  • Let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy!

Notes:

This casserole can be prepared the night before and baked in the morning.
