In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, brown sugar, vanilla extract, bourbon, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, and salt.
Place the cubed French bread in a greased baking dish.
Pour the egg mixture over the bread cubes, making sure all pieces are well-coated.
Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the casserole is set.
Let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy!
Notes:
For a non-alcoholic version, simply omit the bourbon.
