Ingredients:  

Main Ingredients

  • 1 loaf French bread cut into cubes
  • 8 large Eggs
  • 2 cups Milk
  • 1/2 cup Heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup Brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp Vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup Bourbon
  • 1 tsp Ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp Ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp Salt

Instructions: 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, brown sugar, vanilla extract, bourbon, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, and salt.
  • Place the cubed French bread in a greased baking dish.
  • Pour the egg mixture over the bread cubes, making sure all pieces are well-coated.
  • Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  • Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the casserole is set.
  • Let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy!

Notes:

For a non-alcoholic version, simply omit the bourbon.
