Ingredients:  

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb Beef Stew Meat cut into small pieces
  • 2 cups Carrots diced
  • 2 cups Potatoes diced
  • 1 cup Onions chopped
  • 4 cups Beef Broth
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Black Pepper
  • 1 tsp Thyme dried

Instructions: 

  • 1. In a large pot, brown the beef stew meat over medium heat.
  • 2. Add the onions and garlic, and cook until softened.
  • 3. Add the carrots, potatoes, beef broth, salt, pepper, and thyme. Bring to a boil.
  • 4. Reduce heat and simmer for 2 hours, or until the meat and vegetables are tender.
  • 5. Allow the stew to cool completely.
  • 6. Spread the stew evenly on dehydrator trays and dehydrate at 135°F (57°C) for 8-10 hours, or until completely dry.
  • 7. Store the dehydrated stew in airtight containers or vacuum-sealed bags.

Notes:

To rehydrate, add boiling water to the dehydrated stew and let sit for 10-15 minutes.
