  • 4 cups water
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 bay leaf

Instructions: 

  • Rinse the black-eyed peas under running water.
  • In the pressure cooker, combine the black-eyed peas, water, onion, garlic, salt, pepper, and bay leaf.
  • Close the pressure cooker lid and cook on high pressure for 25 minutes.
  • Allow the pressure to release naturally for 10 minutes before quick releasing any remaining pressure.
  • Remove the bay leaf before serving.

Notes:
