Ingredients:  

Main Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 0.5 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • to taste Salt and pepper

Instructions: 

  • Season the chicken breasts with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  • Set the Instant Pot to sauté mode and heat the olive oil.
  • Sear the chicken breasts for 2-3 minutes on each side until browned.
  • Add chicken broth and barbecue sauce to the Instant Pot.
  • Close the lid, set the valve to sealing, and cook on high pressure for 10 minutes.
  • Once done, allow for a natural pressure release for 5 minutes before quick releasing the remaining pressure.
  • Shred the chicken using two forks.
  • Serve the pulled chicken on buns or with your favorite side dishes.

Notes:

For a spicier version, add some hot sauce or chili powder to the barbecue sauce.
