Ingredients:  

Main Ingredients

  • 1 cup basmati rice
  • 1.5 cups water
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 tomato, chopped
  • 1 cup mixed vegetables (carrots, peas, beans)
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 0.5 tsp turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp oil

Instructions: 

  • Wash the basmati rice and keep it aside.
  • Turn on the Instant Pot to sauté mode and heat oil.
  • Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
  • Add sliced onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.
  • Add chopped tomatoes, mixed vegetables, garam masala, turmeric powder, and salt. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
  • Add the washed rice and water. Stir well.
  • Close the Instant Pot with the lid and set the pressure valve to sealing.
  • Cook on high pressure for 5 minutes.
  • Once done, let the pressure release naturally for 5 minutes, then do a quick pressure release.
  • Fluff the pulao with a fork and serve hot.
