Ingredients:  

General Ingredients

  • 1 lb beef brisket thinly sliced
  • 8 cups beef broth
  • 1 onion halved
  • 3 inch ginger sliced
  • 3 star anise
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 3 cloves
  • 1 tablespoon coriander seeds
  • 2 tablespoons fish sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • Rice noodles
  • Bean sprouts, basil, lime, and chili for garnish

Instructions: 

  • In the Instant Pot, add beef brisket, beef broth, onion, ginger, star anise, cinnamon sticks, cloves, coriander seeds, fish sauce, and sugar.
  • Close the lid and set the Instant Pot to high pressure for 30 minutes.
  • Once done, release the pressure manually and open the lid.
  • Cook the rice noodles according to package instructions.
  • Serve the pho in bowls with rice noodles and top with bean sprouts, basil, lime, and chili.

Notes:

For a richer flavor, you can toast the spices before adding them to the Instant Pot.
