Ingredients:

  • 2 pounds boneless beef short ribs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 0.5 cup barbecue sauce
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

Instructions: 

  • Season the short ribs with salt and pepper.
  • Set the Instant Pot to sauté mode and heat the olive oil.
  • Brown the short ribs on all sides, then remove and set aside.
  • Add the onion and garlic to the Instant Pot and sauté until softened.
  • Pour in the beef broth and deglaze the pot, scraping up any browned bits.
  • Stir in the barbecue sauce, soy sauce, and Worcestershire sauce.
  • Return the short ribs to the pot, close the lid, and set to high pressure for 45 minutes.
  • Once done, allow for a natural pressure release for 10 minutes before quick releasing any remaining pressure.
  • Serve the short ribs with the sauce from the pot.

Notes:

For best results, use a good quality barbecue sauce. You can also add vegetables like carrots and potatoes to the pot for a complete meal.
