Ingredients:  

Main Ingredients

  • 2 lbs beef shank
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Instructions: 

  • Season beef shank with salt, pepper, paprika, and thyme.
  • Turn on the Instant Pot to sauté mode and heat olive oil.
  • Sear the beef shank on all sides until browned.
  • Add onions and garlic, sauté for 2 minutes.
  • Pour in beef broth and deglaze the pot.
  • Close the lid, set to high pressure for 1 hour.
  • Once done, allow natural pressure release for 15 minutes.
  • Serve beef shank with the cooking liquid as gravy.

Notes:

For extra flavor, you can add a splash of red wine while deglazing the pot.
