Ingredients:

  • 2 cups Elbow Macaroni
  • 1/4 cup Butter
  • 1/4 cup All-purpose Flour
  • 2 cups Milk
  • 2 cups Shredded Cheddar Cheese
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/4 tsp Black Pepper

Instructions: 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Cook the macaroni according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  • In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for about 1 minute.
  • Gradually whisk in the milk, and cook until the mixture thickens and bubbles.
  • Remove from heat and stir in the shredded cheese until melted. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Combine the cheese sauce with the cooked macaroni and mix well.
  • Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbly.
  • Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes:

For a crunchy topping, sprinkle breadcrumbs over the macaroni before baking.
