Instructions:
Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
Add chopped onion and cook until translucent.
Add minced garlic and cook for another minute.
Add chopped tomatoes, salt, pepper, basil, oregano, and sugar.
Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 45 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Use an immersion blender to blend the sauce to your desired consistency.
Serve over cooked spaghetti.
Notes:
For a smoother sauce, peel the tomatoes before chopping.
