Ingredients:  

Gyro Meat

  • 1 lb Ground lamb
  • 1 lb Ground beef
  • 1 large Onion finely chopped
  • 4 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp Dried oregano
  • 1 tbsp Ground cumin
  • 2 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Black pepper

Instructions: 

  • Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
  • In a food processor, combine the onion, garlic, oregano, cumin, salt, and pepper. Process until finely chopped.
  • Add the ground lamb and ground beef to the food processor. Process until the mixture is well combined and smooth.
  • Press the meat mixture into a baking dish, forming a loaf shape.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 60 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
  • Let the meat rest for 10 minutes before slicing thinly.

Notes:

Serve with pita bread, tzatziki sauce, tomatoes, and onions for a complete gyro experience.
