Main Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh cherries, pitted
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup kirsch or brandy

Instructions:

  • 1. In a skillet over medium heat, combine cherries and sugar. Cook until the cherries release their juices and the sugar dissolves, about 5 minutes.
  • 2. Add the kirsch or brandy to the skillet. Carefully ignite the alcohol with a long match or lighter. Let the flames subside.
  • 3. Serve the cherries and sauce over vanilla ice cream.

Notes:

Be very careful when igniting the alcohol. Keep a lid nearby to smother the flames if necessary.
