Ingredients:  

Corn Dog Batter

  • 1 cup Cornmeal
  • 1 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup Sugar
  • 1 tbsp Baking powder
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 1 Egg beaten
  • 8 Hot dogs
  • 1 quart Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions: 

  • Heat oil in a deep fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, combine cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  • Stir in milk and beaten egg until smooth.
  • Insert wooden skewers into hot dogs.
  • Dip hot dogs into batter, coating evenly.
  • Fry corn dogs in hot oil until golden brown, about 3-5 minutes.
  • Drain on paper towels and serve hot.

Notes:

Serve with mustard or ketchup.
