Instructions:
Pour heavy cream into the mixer.
Mix on medium-high speed until the cream separates into butter and buttermilk.
Drain the buttermilk and rinse the butter under cold water.
Wrap the butter in cheesecloth and squeeze out any remaining buttermilk.
Add salt if desired and mix well.
Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
Notes:
Homemade butter is fresh and free from preservatives.
