Instructions:
1. Peel and cut potatoes into chunks.
2. Boil potatoes in a pot of salted water until tender, about 20 minutes.
3. Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot.
4. Mash the potatoes with a potato masher.
5. Add milk and melted butter. Stir until smooth.
6. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Notes:
For creamier mashed potatoes, use heavy cream instead of milk.
