Ingredients:  

Main Ingredients

  • 2 green plantains
  • 1 cup vegetable oil for frying
  • Salt to taste

Instructions: 

  • Peel the plantains and cut them into 1-inch thick slices.
  • Heat the oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  • Fry the plantain slices until they are golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  • Remove the plantains from the oil and flatten them using a tostonera or the bottom of a glass.
  • Return the flattened plantains to the oil and fry again until crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  • Remove from oil, drain on paper towels, and sprinkle with salt.

Notes:

Best served hot and crispy.
