Ingredients:  

Main Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tbsp cornmeal
  • 1 tbsp vinegar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 unbaked pie crust

Instructions: 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the sugar and melted butter.
  • Add the eggs, cornmeal, vinegar, vanilla extract, and salt. Mix well.
  • Pour the mixture into the unbaked pie crust.
  • Bake for 45 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the filling is set.
  • Let it cool before serving.

Notes:

Chess pie is best served at room temperature or chilled.
