Instructions:
In a mixing bowl, combine masa harina, warm water, and salt. Mix until a dough forms.
Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces and shape them into balls. Flatten each ball into a disc about 1/4 inch thick.
Heat a griddle or skillet over medium heat. Cook each gordita for about 2-3 minutes on each side until lightly browned.
Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Fry each gordita for about 1-2 minutes on each side until golden and crispy.
Drain on paper towels and serve warm with your favorite fillings.
Notes:
Gorditas can be filled with beans, cheese, meats, or vegetables.
