Ingredients:  

Main Ingredients

  • 2 cups Masa Harina
  • 1.5 cups Warm Water
  • 0.5 tsp Salt
  • 1 cup Oil for frying

Instructions: 

  • In a mixing bowl, combine masa harina, warm water, and salt. Mix until a dough forms.
  • Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces and shape them into balls. Flatten each ball into a disc about 1/4 inch thick.
  • Heat a griddle or skillet over medium heat. Cook each gordita for about 2-3 minutes on each side until lightly browned.
  • Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Fry each gordita for about 1-2 minutes on each side until golden and crispy.
  • Drain on paper towels and serve warm with your favorite fillings.

Notes:

Gorditas can be filled with beans, cheese, meats, or vegetables.
