white or cane vinegar

Instructions:
1. Combine chicken, soy sauce, and garlic in a large pot. Marinate for at least 30 minutes.
2. Add vinegar, water, peppercorns, and bay leaves to the pot. Bring to a boil.
3. Lower heat and simmer for 30-45 minutes, until chicken is tender.
4. Remove chicken and reduce sauce to desired consistency.
5. Return chicken to the pot and coat with sauce. Serve hot.
Notes:
For a richer flavor, you can brown the chicken before simmering.
