Ingredients:  

Main Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 carrot, finely chopped
  • 1 celery stalk, finely chopped
  • 500 g ground beef
  • 1 cup red wine
  • 800 g canned tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • to taste salt and pepper

Instructions: 

  • Heat the olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  • Add the onion, garlic, carrot, and celery. Cook until softened.
  • Add the ground beef and cook until browned.
  • Pour in the red wine and let it simmer until reduced by half.
  • Add the canned tomatoes, tomato paste, beef broth, oregano, and basil. Stir well.
  • Reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 2 hours, stirring occasionally.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste before serving.
