Ingredients:  

Main Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup cold butter cut into small pieces
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions: 

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  • Cut in the cold butter using a pastry cutter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  • Stir in the heavy cream and vanilla extract until just combined.
  • Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead gently.
  • Pat the dough into a circle about 1 inch thick and cut into 8 wedges.
  • Place the wedges on a baking sheet and bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown.

Notes:

Serve warm with clotted cream and jam.
