peeled and sliced

vegetable oil
for frying
to taste
salt
Instructions:
1. Peel and slice the plantains into 1-inch thick pieces.
2. Heat the vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
3. Fry the plantain slices until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.
4. Remove the plantains from the oil and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil.
5. Flatten each fried plantain slice using the bottom of a glass or a tostonera.
6. Return the flattened plantains to the hot oil and fry again until crispy, about 2 minutes per side.
7. Remove from oil, drain on paper towels, and season with salt to taste.
Notes:
Best served immediately while hot and crispy.
