  • Knife

Ingredients:

Main Ingredients

  • 1 Large Onion
  • 2 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 tsp Paprika
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Black Pepper
  • 1 cup Buttermilk
  • 2 Eggs beaten
  • as needed Oil for Frying

Instructions:

  • 1. Cut the top of the onion and peel off the outer layer. Make cuts into the onion to create petals, being careful not to cut all the way through.
  • 2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
  • 3. In another bowl, mix buttermilk and beaten eggs.
  • 4. Dip the onion into the flour mixture, then into the buttermilk mixture, and back into the flour mixture, ensuring it is well coated.
  • 5. Heat oil in a deep fryer to 375°F (190°C). Fry the onion until golden brown and crispy, about 10 minutes.
  • 6. Remove the onion from the oil and drain on paper towels. Serve with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes:

Make sure to cut the onion carefully to create even petals.
