Black pepper
Instructions:
1. Soak the black beans overnight in water.
2. In a large pot, cook the pork shoulder and beef chuck until browned.
3. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, cook until softened.
4. Drain the soaked beans and add them to the pot.
5. Pour in the chicken broth and add the bay leaves and cumin.
6. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 2 hours, or until beans are tender.
7. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
8. Serve hot with rice and orange slices.
Notes:
Feijoada is often served with collard greens and farofa (toasted cassava flour).
