cups
all-purpose flour
1
cup
warm water
2
tbsp
sugar
2
tsp
salt
2
tbsp
butter, softened
1
packet
active dry yeast
Instructions:
In a large mixing bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
Add flour, salt, and butter to the yeast mixture. Mix until a dough forms.
Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Punch down the dough and divide it into 8 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a ball and place on a baking sheet.
Cover the buns and let them rise for another 20 minutes.
Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool before serving.
Notes:
For a shiny finish, brush the buns with an egg wash before baking.
