Ingredients:

  • 3 pounds corned beef brisket
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon black peppercorns

Instructions: 

  • Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
  • Place the corned beef brisket in a large Dutch oven.
  • Add the beef broth, chopped onion, minced garlic, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, black peppercorns, and bay leaves to the pot.
  • Bring the mixture to a boil on the stovetop, then cover and transfer to the preheated oven.
  • Braise in the oven for about 4 hours, or until the meat is tender.
  • Remove the brisket from the pot and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
  • Serve with the cooking liquid spooned over the top.

Notes:

This dish pairs well with boiled potatoes and cabbage.
