A simple and delicious Hawaiian snack made with Spam and rice, wrapped in seaweed.

Ingredients:  

Main Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked sushi rice
  • 1 can Spam sliced into 8 pieces
  • 4 sheets nori (seaweed) cut in half
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons mirin

Instructions: 

  • 1. Cook the sushi rice according to package instructions.
  • 2. In a frying pan, cook the Spam slices until crispy on both sides.
  • 3. Mix soy sauce, sugar, and mirin in a bowl. Pour over the Spam slices and cook until the sauce thickens.
  • 4. Place a slice of Spam on a piece of nori. Add a scoop of rice on top using the musubi mold.
  • 5. Wrap the nori around the rice and Spam. Repeat with remaining ingredients.

Notes:

Best enjoyed fresh. Can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 days.
