Ingredients:  

Main Ingredients

  • 1 cup Moong Dal rinsed
  • 3 cups Water
  • 1 tbsp Ghee
  • 1 tsp Cumin Seeds
  • 1 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1 tsp Salt or to taste
  • 1 inch Ginger finely chopped
  • 2 Green Chilies slit
  • 2 tbsp Cilantro chopped

Instructions: 

  • 1. Rinse the moong dal thoroughly under running water.
  • 2. In a pressure cooker, add the rinsed moong dal and water. Cook for 3-4 whistles or until the dal is soft.
  • 3. In a pan, heat ghee. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
  • 4. Add chopped ginger and green chilies. Sauté for a minute.
  • 5. Add turmeric powder and cooked moong dal. Mix well.
  • 6. Add salt and let it simmer for 5-7 minutes. Adjust the consistency by adding water if needed.
  • 7. Garnish with chopped cilantro and serve hot.

Notes:

Serve with rice or roti for a complete meal.
