Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour your cake pans.
In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla.
Combine the flour, baking powder, and salt; add to the creamed mixture alternately with the milk. Beat well.
Pour batter into prepared pans. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
Let cakes cool in pans for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes:
Decorate with your favorite frosting and sprinkles.
