Instructions:
Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
Add the flour and whisk constantly for about 2 minutes.
Gradually add the warmed milk, whisking continuously to avoid lumps.
Cook until the sauce thickens, about 5-7 minutes.
Season with salt and nutmeg, if using. Serve warm.
Notes:
Great for lasagna, mac and cheese, or as a base for other sauces.
