Ingredients:  

Main Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons Butter
  • 2 tablespoons All-purpose flour
  • 2 cups Milk warmed
  • 1 pinch Salt to taste
  • 1 pinch Nutmeg optional

Instructions: 

  • Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
  • Add the flour and whisk constantly for about 2 minutes.
  • Gradually add the warmed milk, whisking continuously to avoid lumps.
  • Cook until the sauce thickens, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Season with salt and nutmeg, if using. Serve warm.

Notes:

Great for lasagna, mac and cheese, or as a base for other sauces.
