Ingredients:  

Main Ingredients

  • 2 lbs beef short ribs flanken cut

Marinade

  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/4 cup mirin
  • 1/4 cup sesame oil
  • 1 Asian pear grated
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp ginger minced
  • 2 stalks green onions chopped
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds toasted

Instructions: 

  • 1. In a mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, water, mirin, sesame oil, grated Asian pear, minced garlic, minced ginger, and chopped green onions.
  • 2. Add the beef short ribs to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Marinate for at least 4 hours or overnight in the refrigerator.
  • 3. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  • 4. Grill the marinated short ribs for about 3-4 minutes on each side, until they are nicely charred and cooked through.
  • 5. Sprinkle toasted sesame seeds over the grilled ribs before serving.

Notes:

Serve with steamed rice and kimchi for a complete meal.
