Rinse the chicken inside and out, and pat dry with paper towels.
Rub the chicken with olive oil, then season with salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder.
Open the beer can and drink half (or pour it out). Place the beer can on a solid surface and lower the chicken onto the can so it sits upright.
Place the chicken on the grill, balancing it on the beer can. Close the lid and cook for about 90 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
Carefully remove the chicken from the grill and let it rest for 10 minutes before carving.
Notes:
Be careful when removing the chicken from the grill as the beer can will be very hot.
