Ingredients:

Main Ingredients

  • 4 bananas sliced lengthwise and halved
  • 1/4 cup butter unsalted
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1/4 cup dark rum
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 pint vanilla ice cream

Instructions:

  • In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the brown sugar and stir until dissolved.
  • Add the bananas to the skillet and cook until they start to soften, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Sprinkle the cinnamon over the bananas and stir gently to combine.
  • Carefully add the rum to the skillet. Using a long lighter or match, ignite the rum to flambé. Allow the flames to subside.
  • Serve the bananas and sauce over scoops of vanilla ice cream.

Notes:

Be very careful when igniting the rum. Keep a fire extinguisher nearby just in case.
