Ingredients:  

Main Ingredients

  • 2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1 cup Butter softened
  • 4 Eggs
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 2 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 2 tsp Baking powder
  • 1/2 cup Cocoa powder

Instructions: 

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  • Mix in the vanilla extract.
  • In another bowl, combine the flour and baking powder.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk.
  • Divide the batter into two bowls. Stir the cocoa powder into one bowl.
  • Spoon the vanilla and chocolate batters alternately into a greased baking pan. Swirl with a knife for a marbled effect.
  • Bake for 45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes:

For a richer flavor, you can add a tablespoon of coffee to the cocoa powder mixture.
