Instructions:
1. In a pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, and sauté until softened.
2. Add the chopped broccoli and chicken broth. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 10 minutes, until the broccoli is tender.
3. Use a blender to puree the soup until smooth. Return the soup to the pot.
4. Stir in the heavy cream and season with salt and black pepper to taste. Heat through, but do not boil.
5. Serve hot and enjoy!
