Instructions:
1. In a large pot, sauté the onion and garlic until fragrant.
2. Add the diced ham and cook for a few minutes.
3. Add the soaked beans and chicken broth to the pot.
4. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 2 hours, or until beans are tender.
5. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
