Ingredients:  

Main Ingredients

  • 4 cups fresh cherries, pitted
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions: 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the cherries and half of the sugar. Set aside.
  • In another bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, and remaining sugar. Stir in the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • Pour the batter into a greased baking dish. Spoon the cherry mixture evenly over the batter.
  • Bake for 40 minutes or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the crust comes out clean.
  • Let it cool slightly before serving. Enjoy!

Notes:

Best served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
