  • 8 oz dried beef sliced into thin strips
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 4 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 4 slices bread toasted

Instructions: 

  • Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat.
  • Whisk in flour and cook for 1-2 minutes.
  • Gradually add milk, whisking constantly until smooth and thickened.
  • Add dried beef and pepper. Cook until heated through.
  • Serve over toasted bread.

Notes:

For a richer flavor, use half-and-half instead of milk.
