active dry yeast

warm water

unsalted butter, melted

egg
beaten, for egg wash
Instructions:
In a mixing bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
Add flour, salt, and melted butter to the yeast mixture. Mix until a dough forms.
Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Punch down the dough and divide it into 8 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a ball and place on a baking sheet.
Cover the buns and let them rise for another 30 minutes. Brush the tops with beaten egg.
Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool on a wire rack.
Notes:
These buns are best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
