Ingredients:  

Main Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp active dry yeast
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 egg beaten, for egg wash

Instructions: 

  • In a mixing bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  • Add flour, salt, and melted butter to the yeast mixture. Mix until a dough forms.
  • Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  • Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Punch down the dough and divide it into 8 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a ball and place on a baking sheet.
  • Cover the buns and let them rise for another 30 minutes. Brush the tops with beaten egg.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool on a wire rack.

Notes:

These buns are best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
