Ingredients:  

Main Ingredients

  • 1 cup cornmeal
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted

Instructions: 

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Grease a baking pan.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  • In another bowl, whisk together buttermilk, milk, eggs, and melted butter.
  • Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan.
  • Bake for 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy!

Notes:

For a sweeter cornbread, increase the sugar to 3/4 cup.
