Ingredients:  

Main Ingredients

  • 2 lbs ground beef
  • 29 oz tomato sauce
  • 29 oz kidney beans (with liquid)
  • 29 oz pinto beans (with liquid)
  • 1 cup diced onion (1 medium onion)
  • 1/2 cup diced celery (1 stalk)
  • 1/4 cup diced green bell pepper (1/2 pepper)
  • 1/4 cup chili powder
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp sugar
  • 1/8 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 2 cups water

Instructions: 

  • 1. Brown the ground beef in a large pot over medium heat. Drain off the fat.
  • 2. Add all the remaining ingredients to the pot. Stir to combine.
  • 3. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.

Notes:

Serve with shredded cheese and a dollop of sour cream if desired.
