1. In a small saucepan, combine sugar and 1 cup water. Bring to a boil, stirring until sugar has dissolved. Allow to cool to room temperature, then cover and refrigerate until chilled.
2. In a pitcher, stir together chilled syrup, lemon juice, and remaining 3 cups cold water.
3. Serve over ice and enjoy!
Notes:
Adjust the sweetness by adding more water if needed.
