Ingredients:

  • 4 cups mashed potatoes
  • 1 bag frozen tater tots
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup chopped green onions
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper

Instructions: 

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, combine mashed potatoes, sour cream, salt, and pepper.
  • Spread the mashed potato mixture evenly in a baking dish.
  • Top with a layer of shredded cheddar cheese.
  • Arrange the tater tots on top of the cheese layer.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes or until the tater tots are golden brown and crispy.
  • Garnish with chopped green onions before serving.

Notes:

For extra flavor, add cooked bacon bits to the mashed potato mixture.
