Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a large pot, boil the potatoes until tender, about 15 minutes. Drain.
In a large bowl, combine the potatoes, sour cream, cheddar cheese, melted butter, green onions, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
Transfer the mixture to a greased casserole dish.
Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and bubbly.
Notes:
For a twist, try adding some crispy bacon bits on top before baking.
