Ingredients:  

Main Ingredients

  • 4 cups Onions, thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp Butter
  • 1 cup Beef broth
  • 1 cup Shredded Gruyere cheese
  • 1 cup Bread crumbs
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Black pepper

Instructions: 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add onions and cook until caramelized, about 20 minutes.
  • Add beef broth to the skillet and simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Transfer the onion mixture to a baking dish. Top with shredded Gruyere cheese and bread crumbs.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbly.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot.

Notes:

For a vegetarian version, use vegetable broth instead of beef broth.
